Thirteen foggy years ago, Mark Hiscock and Chris Andrews were double booked at a small pub in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Rather than cancel one performer, the charismatic owner suggested they play together and so was born Shanneyganock.
Great Big Sea
Great Big Sea is a bastard. Forged from the loins of Figgy Duff and Ryan’s Fancy, GBS found its feet on the unforgiving streets of St. John’s, and stood their ground when others faltered.
The Irish Descendants
Since their formation in 1990, The Irish Descendants have garnered a loyal fan base in their native Canada, and captured the attention of an ever-growing international audience.

Chris Henessey
Born and raised in the South of Ireland, Chris Hennessy worked for several years as an electrician to fund his musical ambitions.
Fergus O’Byrne
Born in Dublin, Ireland Fergus immigrated to Canada in 1967 where he became a founding member of the Irish folk band Ryan’s Fancy.
Greeley’s Reel
Over the last eight years, a group of musicians have been going about the town playing music for the young and old, and everyone who enjoys some good old fashioned Irish Newfoundland music.
